Woo…. this is very helpful in terms for approaching an essay . On a side
note ,I, too, study film production.
We have the same coat :P
I’m not going to university but this video is definitely still helpful as I
need to write a dissertation for an A Level class. I’ve been dreading it
but this was really informative 🙂 Thanks.
This came at a perfect time, so thank you! Literally just started planning
my first English Lit uni essay 15 minutes before you uploaded this and WAS
panicking. Quite a bit.
I am loving the fact that some people I follow are doing these kinds of
videos. Now that I myself am back at school getting my masters its very
helpful! By the way my new Gnome Doc is almost done! Looking forward to
hearing your thoughts.
I mean I don’t disagree per se with anything you say here, but I feel like
you obscure some complexities. For instance, planning. One of my best
supervisors said he never planned an essay because it would create an
artificial structure which would constrain the fluidity of his ideas.
Similar, in terms of argument, while obviously an essay without one is
nothing, in some cases (especially in politics) a good point might be a
negation of any powerful claim – a “we don’t know why”, for example.
